Unleashing Young Creators in Moss

From the moment Morten and Eva met the group, they could feel the kids' energy and enthusiasm, though they weren’t sure how it would turn out.

Unleashing Young Creators in Moss

Earlier this summer, Morten and Eva, founders of Streetianity, had the chance to blend street photography with youthful creativity. They were invited to lead a Street Photography workshop for kids in Morten’s hometown of Moss—a project as unpredictable as the art form itself. The idea of combining the raw, unscripted nature of street photography with the fresh perspectives of young minds was something they couldn't pass up.

Stepping into Uncharted Territory

Stepping into this project felt like new territory for Morten and Eva. Street photography, often gritty and urban, wasn't something they had initially associated with teaching kids, and they weren’t sure if the children would connect with the concept.

But any concerns were quickly put to rest. From the moment the workshop began, the kids’ enthusiasm was undeniable. Most of them used their mobile phones, which turned out to be perfect for capturing spontaneous moments. Eva noticed that with smartphones, the kids had instant access to street photography. They didn’t overthink it; they simply started shooting, and it was amazing to see how naturally they embraced the process.

Inspiration on the Streets

What began as a leap into the unknown quickly transformed into one of the most rewarding experiences for Morten and Eva. Watching the young photographers navigate the streets, finding beauty in the everyday, was deeply inspiring. For Eva, it was a reminder that art is ageless. She observed that the best moments often happen when you let go of expectations and allow creativity to flow freely.

A New Way of Seeing the World

The workshop wasn’t just about teaching photography techniques; it became a way to unlock a new way of seeing the world—for both the kids and Morten and Eva. Morten reflected that, although the project was unexpected, it turned out to be completely unforgettable. They all walked away with fresh perspectives.

In the end, this workshop highlighted the essence of Streetianity—bringing people together through the raw beauty of street photography, regardless of age or experience.
