Tonje Sivertsen
Tonje is a self-taught street photographer based in Oslo. She first picked up a camera in 2016, building on her long-standing passion for exploring the streets.
Photography is an integral part of Tonje’s daily life, with many of her photos taken during her commute to and from her job at the National Library of Norway. She always carries her camera, constantly scanning her surroundings for intriguing photo opportunities—whether it’s an absurd situation, a striking juxtaposition, or simply a visually appealing scene.
Tonje’s street photography is difficult to categorize, as she resists limiting herself to specific motifs, focal lengths, or editing styles. Her only guiding principle is that her street photos capture candid moments in public spaces. She describes her approach as opportunistic and spontaneous.
