Annette Lang
Ann Lang’s profession and passion for photography are both rooted in her favorite place on Earth - a spot from which she can quietly observe the world around her and the people in it.
As an anthropologist and cultural linguist, Ann is keen to detect underlying patterns, minute but telling details and an overall quest to understand how people make sense of the world surrounding them. Ann understands her photography as profoundly humanistic with an esthetic preference for minimalist frames both in composition and color scheme.
Operating in the strict legal frame in France, Ann often explores the perspective from behind, allowing her to show people all while respecting privacy restrictions. A lifted finger, a shrugging shoulder, a tilt to the head or a dancing foot are the eloquent elements Ann tries to capture to add narrative to a frame.
